Goat-Derived Antibodies Targeting Mouse IgM
GAMM83 is a goat-derived secondary antibody raised against mouse IgM and purified by affinity chromatography to deliver class-specific detection in applications where IgG-targeting secondaries would miss or misrepresent the immunoglobulin class being studied.
Class specificity is the defining requirement here. GAMM83 is solid-phase adsorbed against mouse IgM that is covalently linked to a solid support. This purification step removes cross-reactive binding to IgG and other immunoglobulin classes, ensuring class specificity is maintained across the full working concentration range. The heavy chain of mouse IgM is structurally distinct from IgG, and light chain epitopes shared between classes are adsorbed out during production to prevent cross-class detection.
In Western blotting and diagnostic procedures, IgM appears early in the immune response, before class switching. Detecting it accurately requires a secondary that won’t cross-react with IgG signals from later-stage antibodies in the same sample. GAMM83’s agarose bead-based affinity purification step removes non-IgM binding activity before the final preparation is released.
Goat anti-mouse IgG covers the IgG class in parallel for applications tracking class-switch progression. In skeletal muscle and plasma membrane marker studies using mouse IgM primaries, GAMM83 delivers a class-restricted signal without IgG bleed-through.
