Goat-Derived Fc-Specific Antibodies for Human IgG
GAHG80Fc is a goat-derived secondary antibody that specifically targets the human IgG Fc region, leaving antigen binding sites intact and unoccupied. That specificity matters in applications where Fc-mediated detection is the requirement, and anti-human IgG coverage of the full molecule would introduce interference at the binding end.
The antibody reacts with the Fc portion of human IgG across all four subclasses, binding to the constant region without competing with the two antigen-binding sites on the same molecule. In sandwich ELISA formats where human IgG is both the capture target and the detection analyte, goat anti-human IgG Fc-specific reagents eliminate the steric interference introduced by H+L formats when both ends of the molecule are occupied simultaneously.
Goat anti-human IgG H+L format covers the full immunoglobulin for applications where Fc restriction isn’t required. GAHG80Fc is purified by affinity chromatography against human IgG Fc to remove non-immunoglobulin serum proteins and cross-reactive species from the final preparation. Anti-human IgG Fc specificity is confirmed against intact human serum immunoglobulin pools.
Human IgG coupled to agarose beads in immunoprecipitation workflows benefits from Fc-specific detection, which preserves binding-site accessibility. Anti-goat serum cross-adsorption is applied during production to prevent interference. For human IgG antibody quantification workflows, GAHG80Fc pairs cleanly with human IgG reference standards.
