Fatty Acid-Free BSA Powder


Method of purification: Heat shock fractionation and proprietary steps to ensure a low level of fatty acids.
Advantages:   This powder has a very low level of free fatty acids (0.02%), is priced economically, and is readily soluble.
Uses: This material is normally used in Serum-Free Media as a carrier protein for trace elements, fatty acids, hormones, and growth factors. Fatty Acid-Free BSA allows the formulation of albumin with specific fatty acids to enhance cell culture system performance. It is a preferred alternative in assays where the presence of lipids or fatty acids compromises hormone or cholesterol readouts. Every batch is guaranteed to be <=0.02% total fatty acids.
Stability and storage: This BSA is stable for ≥ 5 years when stored at + 5° C +/- 3°C in sealed dry containers.
